Special Worship

We host potlucks throughout the year. Members of both Christ Church and Good Shepherd, Savona, attend regularly. Friends and neighbors are always welcome. A dish to pass is always welcome, and some people bring their own table setting, but the most important thing to bring is yourself!

The bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, the Rt. Rev. Kara Wagner Sherer, visits annually. During the bishop's visit, there can be baptisms, confirmations, and receptions of new members. The bishop joins the congregation for coffee hour and meets with the vestry, the congregation's governing body.

Each October, on the Sunday closest to the Feast of St. Francis (October 6), everyone is invited to bring their pets, or photos of their pets, to be blessed. Our priest offers a blessing for all the animals before the service, and will meet pets in the back of the nave after the service for pets and individual blessings.

On the Sunday closest to Halloween, everyone is invited to come in costume, and our priest offers a blessing. We welcome dogs to worship with us any Sunday, and dogs in costume are blessed right alongside people!
